I'm trying to get back into blogging again. The last few days I've clicked the button to create a post, but I end up leaving the browser open all day with a blank page & never write anything. Anyone else do that?
Life has been so crazy busy on many levels. The summer has been full.
Good things: 4H, horse shows, company & a 4 day vacation to a friend's cottage on a lake. There have been field trips to Herkimer Diamond Mine and the Erie Canal ferry ride & tour, Darien Lake & Enchanted Forest Water Safari, County Fair (Hannah had a horse there for drill team & she won Fair Queen! Jonah & Susanna entered many projects & got many ribbons)
Hannah's barrel patterns are getting faster & her turns getting tighter each time. This past weekend she had an 18 second barrel pattern. Trips to the park, arts & crafts, a new sand box area, friends over to play, sleep-overs & a new horse that was almost free, a friend blessed us with all the green beans I could freeze & another keeps giving us boxes of their extra harvest <3, also froze lots of our own corn. Oh, and Jonah earned enough money to buy himself a used dirtbike-I'm so proud of him!
Bad things: health issues, emotional issues, we had to put a horse down (she was 30) and Susanna's pony is having foot issues, both dogs got mange (from rolling in dead animals). I'm not going into detail on the health & emotional issues as it's not just me. I am doing much better after the miscarriage. My dh & I are doing much better, too-better than ever, actually. All of you who shared your stories with me & prayed for me...thank you. It so helped.
So, we're trying to get back into the swing of things with school. It's a little challenging as my oldest daughter started a part time job & she helps ride & train at our horse trainer's place, too. I consider those things part of her education, but we need to find a new normal routine for her. It's going better than I thought it would, but not all her curriculum is here yet.
I keep reminding myself I only have to think about today.
So, for today: canning tomatoes, freezing peaches (our first harvest from our tree!), Hannah works 3 hours, both dogs have to go to the vet, Jonah will do math, science & grammar. Hannah will do math, creative writing, Uncle Eric series & Maptrek Geo. Susanna will do Explode the Code, Math, Reading lesson, arts & crafts. Alyssa-crafts & play. Hopefully, there'll be time for riding-Jonah & Susanna need to get used to the new horse. He's actually a pony, but just under horse size. He's a Nakota (descended from Chief Sitting Bull's herd).
Yeah-finally managed to type a post! :)
