Another fun weekend! First, we had such beautiful weather for November. I hung laundry on the line, even! My Dad came to visit us this weekend, and also do a little hunting. It's been awhile since we saw him, but Alyssa took to him again immediately. It amazes me. Oh, and boy, does she get him wrapped right around her little finger. He's like putty in her fingers-he just doesn't stand a chance against her charms. LOL It's so funny.
The other morning she said to me, "Mama, you are so cute, I could just eat you all up!" LOL! <3 No wonder she is so hard to say no to. Yes, I do say that to her :)
The guys didn't get any deer yet, but they did see some. We had many hunters at our table for lunch on opening day. I always enjoy this-they all come in wearing their camo & full of stories & jokes. We had surprise visitors. Actually, Pat knew they were coming, but forget to tell me ;) Chip & Beth didn't have time to hunt this year, but they said they couldn't miss out on the hunter's lunch. So, they brought chips & soda & hung out for awhile. It was so great to see them!
Funny anecdote: I told Pat to tell the hunters coming to bring soda & chips and I would provide everything else. I told him I refuse to buy that poison. He said, "ok, but could you possibly refrain from calling it poison drinks & poison snacks during in front of everyone?" I told him, "sure-anything for you." LOL! They all already know I'm kooky!
I forgot to mention that my oldest daughter got to go to Georgia last weekend! She flew there with my MIL & they stayed at her cousin's house. She got married last year. Hannah had so much fun. They got manicures, went shopping & went to the Atlanta Aquarium. Not surprising to me, they said she was like a kid in a candy store at the aquarium. :)
The Vet Science Curriculum she's been doing is a hit. Her best friend (who is in public school) is doing it, too, when she's not in school. They get together every week to do experiments or study & quiz each other. Sometimes they do research projects together. It's so cool to see how into it they are. Yesterday Hannah was over at Danielle's house & she called me to say I need to order a sheep brain, sheep lung & stuff to dissect with. I said, ok, but I have something you could get started with this week, too-a cow's eye. Hannah remembered it, but Danielle was like, "why do you just happen to have a cow's eye at your house?" Well, first of all, you never know what could be here-even I don't know half the time! Well, a few years ago, we were going to dissect a cow's eye for the Konos Senses unit. My husband went to the neighboring farm when they had a dead cow (they called us to let us know) and so he & the farmer cut an eyeball out of the cow's head & put it in formaldehyde. But, we never ended up doing it, so now it'll get done. They are so excited to do this, I just can't get over it. Crazy, silly girls...I love it!
Today, Hannah has Latin tutoring and Jonah has spelling tutoring & I have to take 2 animals to the vet and Hannah has to work. I'm also finishing up quarterly reports. I've got 2 done & 1 to go. I' better get moving! :)
Sounds like a good weekend. But that eye thing, well all I can say is, yuck. :)
