Susanna has been wanting ducklings and Pat caved and said yes. They are so cute and she is adorable with them-she is taking being their mama very seriously and they are really bonding with her.
This was the morning after we got them-both little girls ran down the stairs to check on the ducks. Alyssa calls them "duckwings." :) The puppy was interested, too. The day we got them he was afraid of them, but the next day he was a little too curious. LOL
Susanna took this next picture. Aren't they adorable?? They are the white kind.
When the weather is warm enough, we let them outside & they stay right with Susanna. If she gets up, they get up & follow her.
They like dandelions.
I'll be glad when they can stay outside fulltime. Right now they are in a cattle trough in the basement-it's not easy to clean that out.
Their names keep changing, but so far 2 of the permanent names are Jemima and Ping. Figures, right? LOL
When I was a little girl, ducklings were my absolute all time favourite animal!!! I still love them, they are adorable and probably play a huge role in one of my earliest happy childhood memories. Thanks for sharing this.. The photos are great, love the names Jemima and Ping - so appropriate - and of course Susanna is an excellent Mama Duck!!!
